Jackson McCrea Whiskey-Infused Maple Glazed Salmon

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces each)

  • 1/4 cup Jackson McCrea rye whiskey

  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

  • Optional: chopped fresh parsley and lemon wedges for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the Marinade:

    • In a medium bowl, whisk together the rye whiskey, maple syrup, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic, smoked paprika, and black pepper.

  2. Marinate the Salmon:

    • Place the salmon fillets in a resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.

    • Pour the marinade over the salmon, ensuring all fillets are coated.

    • Seal or cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for a deeper flavor).

  3. Prepare for Cooking:

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.

  4. Sear the Salmon (Optional for Crispiness):

    • Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

    • Remove the salmon from the marinade (reserving the marinade) and sear each fillet for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden.

  5. Bake the Salmon:

    • Transfer the seared salmon to the prepared baking sheet, skin-side down. Brush with a bit of the reserved marinade.

    • Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.

  6. Reduce the Marinade:

    • While the salmon bakes, pour the remaining marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce the heat and simmer until slightly thickened (about 5 minutes).

  7. Glaze and Serve:

    • Remove the salmon from the oven and brush with the thickened marinade for a glossy finish.

    • Garnish with fresh parsley and serve with lemon wedges.

Serving Suggestions

  • Pair this whiskey-infused salmon with roasted vegetables, garlic mashed potatoes, or a simple arugula salad.

  • For a heartier meal, serve with a glass of Jackson McCrea rye whiskey on the rocks.

Enjoy the perfect balance of smoky, sweet, and savory flavors in this elegant dish!
